Course Overview

5S is a contraction derived from the Japanese words Seiri, Seito, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke. It is simple methodology yet an extremely powerful program. World-class companies to attain continuous improvement have foundationally used it. 5S is a set of actions to be followed through every day activities to advance the operational surroundings and circumstances.

This one-day training will discuss the basics and key elements of 5S as well as the important pointers in successfully implementation.

Course Objectives

The aim of 5S aims is simply to see waste, analyze sources of waste and to eliminate waste in a holistic and systemic manner.

This one (1) day workshop aims to:

  • Equip the participants with the Basics and Key Elements of 5S.
  • Understand the importance of the methodology for a company and in the context of Waste Elimination and Process Improvement.
  • Equip participants in starting, implementing and sustaining a successful 5S program
  • Give ample examples and exercises of 5S.

Dynamics

The program is expected to be highly responsive to the specific requirements and needs of the participating companies. The program features are:

  • Industry based. The methods discussed are based on the Best Practices of different industries.
  • Action-Orientation. Specific action plans are required at the end of the workshop that would serve as learning monitoring and evaluation systems. This also ensures that learning is responsive to the needs of the organization.
  • Fun. The instruction methodologies utilize structured learning exercises and experiential learning activities for stimulating and inspiring interactions. Discussions reflect current and relevant business and personal learning.

Ms Ambec Driz

Marivic R. Driz graduated Bachelor of Science in Psychology and has a Masters in Industrial Relations in Psychology from University of the Philippines, Diliman, Q.C. School of Labor and Industrial Relations (SOLAIR).
