Overview

GPRO is a comprehensive international training and certificate program developed by Urban Green Council, the U.S. Green Building Council’s New York City affiliate. GPRO teaches the people who build, renovate and maintain buildings the principles of high performance construction in an industry that’s shifting ever more toward sustainable building.

GPRO’s trade-specific modules are is designed for incumbent building professionals who seek to integrate green practices into the core knowledge of their trade. The Fundamentals of Building Green is also available for individuals who are looking to learn the basics of sustainable construction without needing prior experience in a particular trade.

Foundations of Building Green

Understanding green building fundamentals is the building block of all GPRO training; all our trade-specific courses begin here.

But what if you’re not a tradesperson or building operator and would like a better understanding of green building? That’s why we created GPRO Foundations.

This new course is ideal for a range of audiences including:

• Sales or administrative staff who work in real estate, construction, architecture or engineering
• Workforce development providers
• Facilities and operations support staff
• College students interested in entering the building and construction industry

Foundations explains how different systems work together to make buildings efficient, healthy and resilient, as well as where the green building industry is headed.

This six-hour certificate course can be scheduled to meet the needs of your organization, and includes the GPRO exam session.
